Work hard for the money!
As if I needed more to do right? Running a house and family is definitely a full time gig. But, I guess I thought I needed to juggle a little more. At the end of June, I accepted a full time, WFH recruiting gig with Prithvi Catalytic. I'm working on testers and SDETs just like the good ol Volt days.
Cheers to more money though!
A little scare...
Had ourselves a little scare on Wednesday May 8. Jaydan woke up and threw up... He said he'd tried to burp and it just came so we weren't concerned that he was really sick until he threw up again about 15 minutes later. Dirk saw a small streak of blood in it so I was watching him closely. About 5 minutes after Dirk left, he threw up again on the bathroom floor. This time there was a lot of blood and a large blood clot. I helped him and got everything cleaned up and called the doctor. They had us come in to see the pediatrician {poor kid threw up 4 more times before we could even get up the hill to the office} and she said if he hadn't turned the corner in the next couple hours to call back. He vomited again after taking a nap so I called... They sent us to Children's Hospital ER. By this time he was throwing up all stomach bile. The ER docs gave him anti nausea meds and slowly rehydrated him. He was back to pretty normal in the next couple hours!
The conclusion was that he'd probably had a nose bleed that went down his throat an irritated his stomach. Scary nonetheless... So happy that's all it probably was.

Another scare...
The throwing up blood was way back in May - ancient history now.
Today, however, we got another little jolt with Jaydan. We stopped by the Becks to drop something off. Buddy was being friendly and ended up giving J a couple little licky kisses. I thought it would be ok as long as we got a good hand washing in after. Boy was I wrong. We only stayed 20 minutes or so. We left Trilogy and by the time we hit Novelty Hill J was red, swelling, itchy and getting welts around his eyes and all over his face. Not good. I raced to my parents and got him undressed and in the tub. He got a dose of Zyrtec. He got scrubbed down really good. All started going away within a half hour of getting out of the bath but I was sure freaked.
I talked to the allergist and apparently I did everything right except he should have gotten Benedryl instead because it acts faster. Next time he has contact with dogs (or to any of his allergens) could be the same, nothing at all, or could put him in respiratory distress. Terrifying.
In the end all is well but I'm sure gonna be keeping my eye on this little guy.
